How to apply
To access the application form and submit your idea, simply click on the Apply button in the website header above.
Note that the form
cannot be saved and revisited so we recommend preparing content in advance. The main points to be described are: team; value proposition; technology; space connection; readiness; target market; business model.
The deadline for applications is the
5th September 2021.
Who can apply?
Swedish-based start-ups, SMEs, university spinoffs and sole entrepreneurs are welcome to apply. If you have a registered company, it must be younger than five years old. Students and/or student teams are also eligible provided that they have the time and resources to dedicate to the incubation process if selected.
Reward
The winning entry will receive up to 6 months free participation in Innovatum Science Park’s business incubation programme. We offer tailored support to early-stage entrepreneurs and teams in developing their business ideas, including:
- regular business coaching from a dedicated mentor
- connection to diverse financing opportunities
- collaboration possibilities with industry and academic partners
- additional external expertise if required
- access to our extensive networks and events
- a creative community with other startups and alumni
On top of our regular incubation offer, the winning entry will also receive energy sector-specific business and technical support from the team at Energikontor Väst, as well as the opportunity to pitch their idea to a select group of potential first customers and stakeholders after the incubation period.
Evaluation
The evaluation process will take place over two rounds. The first round includes assessment of each applicant’s eligibility and the quality of the written application. The best projects proceed to the second round, where applicants are invited to present their idea in a video interview. The entire evaluation process, from application deadline to the final decision, will take about four weeks. All applications are judged by a team of experts in earth observation data, business and start-up development, and renewable energy resources.
The evaluation process covers the following criteria:
Creativity and Innovation
Does the solution solve the challenge in a unique and innovative way?
Commercial Viability
Does the solution present a viable business model with real market potential?
Feasibility
Is the idea technically feasible?
Space Data Relevance
How significant is the use of space data in the realisation of the idea?
Team
Does the team have the technical and business expertise needed to make the project successful?
